I share that notion that pets are family too. And about three years ago, my previous cat, Sadie Mae, was ten when she died on Thanksgiving Day. I waited about six months, then went to a local animal shelter to adopt another feline. The process of adopting a new cat was a little emotional for me. I’m weird, I know. Anyway, I saw soooo many sweet cats at that animal shelter. Older cats, baby kittens, and I wished that I could take them all home with me. I fell in love with this tiny kitten that was brought in that morning. He did not want me to put him down, so I held him as I looked at all of the sweet faces in the cages that wanted a home too. IT WAS SO TOUGH TO SEE THAT! Anyway, I adopted that little kitten, and named him Poco. That’s Spanish for “little.” No, I am not Spanish, but I did take several semesters of Spanish in high school and college. Well, little Poco had little claws and made little scratches all over my hands, because he didn’t know how to play yet. I made the decision that Poco needed a friend, so I went back to the animal shelter to adopt another kitten. I came home with a fuzzy little orange kitten, and named him Amigo, or “friend.” I cannot tell you how precious and inseparable that these two are. I LOVE them! (And so does Brandon, regardless of what he says.) If you were thinking of adopting a sweet pet this Christmas, DO IT!
Here is a picture of them as little babies.

And here is a picture of them that I made recently. Aren’t they so sweet!
